Guardian Tax Consultants, established in 2011, has built a proven system that specializes in the design, implementation, and compliance of tax mitigation strategies.
Our pioneering efforts have expanded the use of tax strategies typically only available to ultra-high-net-worth individuals to the small business space, including the use of Management Service Organizations (MSOs) for asset protection and tax reduction. We strategically partner with CPAs, attorneys, and professional advisors across the United States to deliver tailored advice and consulting to business owners.

Alexander Jones
CEO, CFP®, CLU®, ChFC®, CEPA
As founder of Guardian, Alex has provided advice to business owners for nearly two decades. Gifted with the ability to see the risks and opportunities associated with businesses, he can distill down complex information into a comprehensive vision for business execution.
A graduate of Lipscomb University, Alex has broad experience in various financial areas including banking, investment management, tax planning, real estate, insurance, cashflow management and estate and exit planning.
Throughout his career Alex has helped business owners acquire an aggregate total of over $500 million in life insurance death benefits to protect their family and wealth and saved his clients more than $35 million in federal taxes through tax consulting in the last five years.
Michael Claudio
President, CEPA
Michael is the guy who ensures things run smoothly and dependably–i.e. everything you want in your financial and tax consultant! With an extensive background as a quality control engineer and 25 years in the automotive sector, Mike oversees and develops the processes that create a seamless client experience and provide quality control for client strategies.
Prior to joining Guardian, he founded and sold a large quality control and engineer staffing firm with over 300 employees.
Mike combines his expertise in quality control and operations management along with his business owner experience and mindset to help understand Guardian’s clients and provide a next-level experience.
John Marshall
Operations Integrator
John has extensive experience in business development, organizational management, and team building. His career spans various roles, from managing his own enterprise to leading initiatives in large multinational corporations. John has contributed significantly across public, private, and non-profit sectors.
He has pioneered advancements in seventeen different industries. Most notably, he played a key role in Wilson Lumber’s impressive growth, achieving a 500% increase in organic revenue and a 400% expansion in operations over the past seven years. This success is a testament to his consistent track record.
John’s expertise extends nationally and internationally, providing products, services, and management solutions. He is a distinguished leader in the business world, continually driving success in every endeavor.
Jake Valente
Client Relations Manager
Jake Valente specializes in client relationship management at Guardian Tax Consultants. Before joining our team, he worked as a project manager for four years. Originally from New York, Jake graduated from Elon University in North Carolina with a degree in Economics and Mathematics. In 2016, he moved to Nashville and worked as a touring and studio drummer on Broadway. Jake’s diverse background and expertise in managing projects and client relationships make him a dynamic and valuable member of our team.
Codey Paeth
Client Relations Admin
Originally from Chicago, Codey Paeth has six years of experience in the mortgage industry, specializing in operations, prior to joining our team at Guardian Tax Consultants. Known for his exceptional attention to detail, Codey ensures that all processes are executed with precision and efficiency. His dedication and meticulous approach make him a valuable asset to our team, consistently contributing to the smooth and successful operation of our services.
Krista Prince
Operations Coordinator
An Alabama Native, Krista Prince graduated from the University of Alabama at Birmingham with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management and Finance. She has six years of experience in business operations, with a background that includes property management, marketing, multi-family mortgage brokerage, and finance. Additionally, Krista has experience in AI training, bringing a modern and innovative approach to her work. She brings a well-rounded perspective and a strong understanding of various business sectors to our team.
Lance Mize
CPA CGMA
Lance Mize is from Thompson Station, TN. He attended Mississippi College and has 20+ years of experience providing tax compliance and consulting services. He specializes in several industries including logistics, construction, real estate, and general small business.
Chelsea Rebeck
CPA, CFE, JD, LLM (Tax)
Chelsea is a CPA and attorney ‘Of Counsel’ with Guardian. She holds a Master of Law in Taxation and is a Certified Fraud Examiner with experience in tax law, tax controversy, and tax-related criminal and civil litigation. Chelsea has served as Senior Auditor for the United States Department of Defense. She is admitted to practice in the United States Supreme Court, United States Tax Court, and the United States Court of Federal Claims.
